Review - LG 47LA6200 119 cm (47) LED TV (Full HD, 3D, Smart)

47LA6200I bought this model from a store in Vashi (Navi Mumbai) in July 2014. After a good 4 months of usage, I decided to pen down the salient features and quick review of this model for the benefit of the larger audience.

For starters this is a 2013 model (LG LA 6200) and the 2014 model is called LB6200 which has a slightly higher refresh rate and costs about 10,000 INR more. I demoed both the LA6200 (2013 model) and LB6200 (2014 model). To my surprise i could not find any difference in quality. I tested both the non 3d and 3d features. The link to the official website is LG India.

Some of the salient feature of this model are following:

  • 119 cm (47) LED Display
  • Full HD, 1920 x 1080
  • IPS Panel
  • 3D TV
  • Smart TV
  • Smart Share (NFC Tag ON, Miracast™ , MHL, 2nd Display)
  • 3 x HDMI,
  • 3 x USB
  • Built-in Wi-Fi, Ethernet
  • Refresh Rate - 60 Hz Motion Rate
  • Magic Remote with Voice Recognition
  • Comfortable, flicker free, battery free 3D glasses - 4 pieces
  • Time Machine with recording feature
  • Premium Content
The sales package contains "TV Unit, 4 Basic 3D Glasses, Magic Remote (MR13), Conventional Remote".

I bought this TV to replace my 32 inch Panasonic non smart non 3d lcd tv. Some of the salient features that i love now after more than a month of use are following:1)Appearance: This TV on the table top stand look super sleek and the stand itself is sleek and gives a nice look to the TV. I must say that overall this is one of the best looking TVs out there.
2)Display:Once of the nicest displays out there. The clarity of picture i found it to be better than similarly priced Samsung and panasonic displays.
3)Set Up: Set up was a breeze, with the TV pointing out to me what needs to be done. Everything from creating a LG account to using 3d or connecting to wifi was a breeze.
4) REMOTE (in caps because this is a BIG BIG advantage): The remote (kind of a mouse) is fabulous. It is not offered by any other manufacturer and if you have a smart TV then you will how much difference this remote will make.BTW you can speak to the remote to open websites (cool feature, no longer typing A full website)
5)Smart Features: Smart features are super here. You get Miracast (all new phones and most new tablets have this) so you can mirror your phone/tablet to this TV. You also get DLNA which is inbuilt in most mobiles, tablets, routers, portable HDD, so you can see the shared content wirelessly on this TV. You also get NFC so you can tap to share connect new devices to this TV. It also has android and iOS apps for controlling the TV. Also, you get free 3D movies (few) as free and access on browser. Also has Wifi inbuilt so seamless web browsing.
6)3D: This is passive 3D. Which means no charging the glasses every 2-3 hours. No risk of damage to glasses if you have naughty kids at home. No flicker problem. Also, if more people are watching you can get compatible glasses for 200/- inr online. Also with 2D to 3D makes this usable right out of the box
7)Audio: This is an area which could certainly have been better. Samsung and Sony tvs sound way better than this.

All in all a great deal for the money spent.
